ESPN is reporting that Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon will avoid jail time after his attorney entered a guilty plea to drunken driving for the rookie during a hearing Tuesday.

Blackmon, a former Oklahoma State star and the fifth overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft, was booked into jail on June 3 after registering a blood-alcohol level of .24, three times the legal limit in Oklahoma, according to the police affidavit. A second sample registered .26, the affidavit states.

According to ESPN , Judge Michael Stano imposed a deferred sentence of one year, meaning Blackmon will serve no jail time if he fulfills the terms of his sentence. Blackmon was fined $500 and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service.

In addition, the 22-year-old receiver is required to pay a $100 assessment to a drug abuse treatment fund and will be under district attorney supervision for a full year.

Tulsa World writes Blackmon also must install an interlock device — a breathalyzer-type mechanism which requires the operator to exhale into it before he or she can start the motor vehicle — on his car.

Following his arrest (his second alcohol-related incident in less than two years) in June, Justin Blackmon apologized in a press conference and said he didn’t have a drinking problem, but said he’ll abstain from alcohol use for now.

“I’m done. Right now, I’m done with all that. … I can’t promise you 10 years down the road that I’m going to be done. I just know that as of right now and what I can speak of.”

Jaguars training camp begins on Thursday.
