John Travolta has been targeted in a $20 million extortion attempt, TMZ.com reported today . Rumors surged that photos of Jett Travolta, taken “as he was dying,” played a part in the alleged extortion plot. TMZ updated their story recently regarding the alleged photos, simply saying “We’ve confirmed the alleged extortion is over the circumstances surrounding Jett’s death, but we have no more specifics.”
The Bahamian police have confirmed the extortion attempt, TMZ claims:
“We’re told several people allegedly have demanded $20 million from John and cops are on the hunt. We now have confirmed that the alleged extortion attempt does not involve pictures of Jett as he was dying.”
The first extortion complaint came about a week ago and was supposedly placed by Travolta’s reps, according to a source close to the police. The investigation, the source claims, will conclude “very shortly.”
