Joey Feek Cancer Update: Rory Shares Heartwarming Photo Of Joey And Indiana, ‘Loving Watching Them Loving Each Other’

Joey Feek’s story of life, love, and heartache has captivated the hearts of millions of people around the world. The country music singer is battling stage four cancer, but consistently has a smile on her face, and no matter what is thrown her way, her faith never waivers. While it would be easy for most to give up when they were told they didn’t have long to live, Joey is making what time she has left matter — spending time with her family, and making memories that her family will cherish long after she is gone.

According to a previous report by the Inquisitr, Joey Feek was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer in 2014, three months after giving birth to her now 22-month-old daughter Indiana (Indy). Shortly after her diagnosis, Joey underwent a radical hysterectomy and endured several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. The treatment seemed to be working; however, the Feeks would later find out that it wasn’t. A mid-October scan revealed their worst nightmare — not only had Joey’s cancer returned, but it had also spread to other parts of her body, including her colon.

Because Joey’s cancer was spreading so aggressively and rapidly, there was little to nothing the doctors could do for her. Yes, she could continue to undergo chemo and radiation, but it would only buy her time. It would not give her what she had been hoping and praying for — a cure. Joey was left with two decisions: 1) continue treatment all the while knowing it would’t help in the long run, or 2) say enough is enough. As hard as it was for her to do, Joey chose the latter, and told her doctors she would no longer be treating her disease. Joey and her family later returned to their home where Joey entered hospice care to spend out the remainder of her days surrounded by those she loves the most.

Since Joey’s cancer diagnosis, her husband and duet partner Rory Feek has been documenting her battle on his blog This Life I Live. Rory shares frequent entries updating their fans on Joey’s condition, and sharing both new and old memories. Rory also shares updates on their official Facebook page. On Tuesday, January 5, Rory shared a photo of his wife and daughter sitting in Joey’s hospice bed as they read a story. He captioned the heartwarming photo by saying, “…loving watching them loving each other.” In the photo, Indiana can be seen sitting on her mother’s lap, while Joey, who has a smile on her face as always, turns the pages of her book.

Joey and Rory’s fans were quick to comment on the picture, which has now received over 166,000 likes and nearly 6,000 shares. Many people thanked Rory for sharing these intimate moments with them, and others continued offering their prayers and support.

“Would like to thank you Rory,for sharing such wonderful,moments with Joey and INDY,and the rest of the family,these are precious moments forever,may the miracles continue for Joey,and this family stay blessed in every way,and GOD continue to answer any and all prayers,” one Facebook user wrote, while another added, “We all love watching the love between this loving family. Continued prayers for all of you. Joey, Rory, India and family please know that seeing these beautiful loving pictures are a blessing to all. God bless you all for keeping us posted.”
