Jesus, it would appear, gets around.
The Son of God has previously been spotted on Mars, in burnt burger grease, and on a skirting board, not to mention on toast, tortillas and lamps. Now, He’s popped up on the back of a dead, beached stingray. Just in time for Easter.
A James Island woman found Jesus’ image on the back of the above deceased cownose stingray. It’s really quite spooky, eh? The chosen one is 24-year-old Erica Scheldt. She told reporters:
“I just kind of thought it looked like a bearded homeless man. But when I posted pictures on Instagram, one of my friends was like, ‘That’s Jesus.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, my God. You’re right.'”
Yeah, I dunno how she missed it either. Scheldt added that other people on the beach saw the face, but nobody else identified it as Jesus, the fools.
“I feel like if I did notice it and told people who were walking by, they would just think I was kind of weird. I did think it was interesting, with Easter coming up. And it’s such a beautiful image on such a harmful thing.”
Hard as it is to believe, Scheldt is a devout Catholic.
