It’s obvious that if there was any bad blood between ex husband and wife Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey then it has disappeared over the years following their divorce.

Upon hearing the arrival of Jessica’s daughter Maxwell Drew, Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa Minnillo-Lachey, who’s also expecting, sent Simpson a basket of cookies in celebration of the new addition to the Simpson-Johnson household.

“A large basket of pink and white cookies were delivered to Jessica’s hospital room at Cedars-Sinai earlier from Nick and Vanessa,” according to a source, who continues to describe the basket’s details, going on to say, “The basket was delivered by Cookies By Design and included seven huge cookies with adorable baby girl decorations.”

Nick and Jessica’s relationships became one of the most scrutinized celebrity relationships in their hay day, documenting the first few years of their marriage with an MTV reality series Newlyweds , which drew in a ton of viewers, and painted Simpson as a bimbo, and Lachey as the man who put up with her “is this chicken or fish?” antics.

After dating on and off since 1999, the two were wed in 2002, and soon after Jessica Simpson publicly declared that she lost her virginity to the 98 degrees singer. However, by the time 2005 rolled around, Jessica Simpson filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences”, and the couple’s divorce, as well as Simpson’s father’s dislike of Nick Lachey was publicized worldwide after the finalizing of the divorce in June of 2006.

Nick Lachey met wife Vanessa Minnillo in 2006 after she starred in his video for “What’s Left of Me”, playing a wife in a portrait of a broken home. After dating on and off they announced their engagement in 2010 and were wed in July of 2011. Lachey announced their pregnancy in March on Live! with Kelly .
