The Hunger Games ‘ Jennifer Lawrence is starting to feel as stressed as Katniss Everdeen, which is pretty impressive considering the fictional character led a revolution in a dystopian world. Lawrence admits that she feels she is “aging like a president” like Obama due to her busy work schedule, and even as she says goodbye to the Hunger Games series she is already saying hello to the new Joy movie due out this Christmas.
In a related report by the Inquisitr , it is claimed that Jennifer Lawrence is annoyed at ex-boyfriend Chris Martin , whom she still speaks to via texting.
In the Joy movie, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper are reuniting for the first time since they filmed Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle . The film is based on the story of Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, and this time Lawrence’s character does not need to sneak in to take center stage.
“It’s the first story I’ve done that has a woman at the center of it. Jennifer’s usually coming in from the side, like a rogue. She kind of sneaks in and takes over half the movie,” explained director David O. Russel, who could not help but compare the character to Katniss Everdeen. “But here, she’s in the middle, not with a bow and arrow, but with her heart and soul. That’s a new one for both of us, because I think her renegade nature thrives on the other mode of attack.”
The reason that Jennifer Lawrence manages to steal the stage in a movie about Mangano is because it is really about the woman who rises to become the founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty. According to Fashion & Style , Russell also explained why he decided to go in this direction with film.
“I wanted to do an epic, unexpected story about the interior life of one woman’s soul, from the ages of 10 to 40,” he said. “You go inside that person’s soul, and it’s alternately hilarious, horrifying, and sort of joyous. Relationships are always complex, and nobody gets to success without breaking some of their own bones – and other people’s, too.”
The Joy movie release date is set for December 25, 2015, but Lawrence is already feeling the pressure of releasing so many movies. She says her busy schedule is taking a toll on her physically, although she admits she likes it that way.
“I try to keep working so people can see other characters and other things I can do instead of taking vacation time, and now I’m aging like a president,” Lawrence, according to People . “I hate waking up without a goal or going to sleep without achieving nothing.”
She calls Katniss Everdeen “the greatest female character ever,” but she is working hard to show the world what she can do beyond The Hunger Games . The Joy movie may add to her reputation, but she admits it would be nice to slow down.
“I remember there have been a few times where I would have loved time off,” she said. “But I was very aware of how overwhelming these movies and this character was, and that was a big fear of mine signing on to these movies. I want people to be able to lose themselves when they’re watching a movie and not see the same character.”
Becoming a Hollywood star required Jennifer Lawrence to adapt to a “new normal” life. Becoming a well-known character changed her life completely, but now she embraces the isolation.
“I feel very stable, and normal, and happy, but it took a few years to get used to being looked at differently. It’s kind of an alienating feeling,” she admitted. “Then it was “OK, let’s get back to work” and people react and can do whatever they want. That’s fine and it’s on them. I have a job. That’s how I think of it.”
The final movie of the Hunger Games series will be released on November 20, 2015.
