Jennifer Lawrence loves Doritos so much that she accidentally stained the outfits she wore while filming director David O. Russell’s drama American Hustle .
In what could be the best unintentional ad campaign on the entire planet, Lawrence managed to get Doritos dust all over the white dress she wore in the aforementioned flick while consuming the snacks in-between takes. In other words, the X-Men: Days of Future Past doesn’t let work get in the way of good junk food.
During a recent chat with the folks over at Vanity Fair , American Hustle costume designer Michael Wilkinson revealed that he put together several dresses for Jennifer Lawrence to wear while filming the acclaimed flick. Since white fabric shows everything, it didn’t take long for the actress to get Doritos all over the outfits .
“Jennifer Lawrence is a very… let’s say… raw and intuitive young lady, and she’s not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume. So we were glad that we had a couple [backups],” he told the publication.
Fortunately, the film’s budget didn’t suffer too much from Jennifer Lawrence’s messy eating habits. Since Wilkinson only paid $3.99 per yard for the fabric, making extra dresses didn’t cost the production a ton of cash. Even if he’d spent a lot of money on the outfits, it’s doubtful this would have stopped Lawrence from chowing down.
Jennifer Lawrence’s obsession with food is well documented. The actress is almost always thinking about her next meal, so it’s not altogether surprising that she accidentally got Doritos all over her American Hustle outfits. Lawrence previously said that she never plans to embark on a crash diet just to land a movie role. If someone even breaths the D word in her general direction, then she’s apt to tell them where they can do with their advice. Hint: It’s not very polite.
The actress explained:
“In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress. I eat like a caveman. I’ll be the only actress that doesn’t have anorexia rumors! I’m never going to starve myself for a part. I’m invincible. I don’t want little girls to be like, ‘Oh, I want to look like Katniss, so I’m going to skip dinner!’ That was something I was really conscious of during training. I was trying to get my body to look fit and strong, not thin and underfed.”
