Jennifer Hudson, the artist whose amazing weight loss transformation has recently caused more of a buzz than her music, has teamed up with French DJ David Guetta to drop “Night of Your Life,” a catchy club track sure to make a rapid rise on the pop charts.
Straying from her normally low-key R&B offerings – like those in her last Grammy winning album, I Remember Me , which has sold more than 800,000 copies – the 28-year-old former American Idol contestant proves that big ballads aren’t her only forte, effortlessly gliding over the DJ’s hypnotic plinky raindrop sounds.
The new song – just one of the tracks on Guetta’s recently completed album, “Nothing But the Beat,” which debuts on August 30 and also features collaborations with Taio Cruz, Nicki Minaj and Usher – debuted this Monday (Aug. 22) on YouTube, and in less than a day it already has over 160,000 views.
Guetta’s last record, One Love, spawned four #1 singles in the UK and four chart-toppers on the U.S. Billboard club chart. Additionally, One Love took home the NRJ Music Award in France for Best International album last year.
