Jay Z And Kanye Fight Over Shared Relationship Philosophy

It seems Kanye was madder than we knew about Jay Z blowing off his marital advice and his wedding. During a set at Bonnaroo, it seems West left his fellow rapper’s name out of the lyrics of at least three songs, substituting other words, or just letting a beat hit with no word at all.

Cosmopolitan reports that there’s a widespread assumption that this is West’s way of returning the insult he perceived in Jay Z’s refusal to act as his best man last month, even going so far, apparently, as to call the event a “circus,” and that’s certainly enough of a snub to get Kanye going.

However, there are hints that the feud might run a little deeper than that: according to Times Live, there’s also the little matter of Jay Z mocking West’s marital advice, which by all accounts occurred at some point after the wedding dis.

It wasn’t very controversial advice — Kanye apparently suggested that Jay Z might like to not let the negativity get to him, but to focus on his marriage and ‘take care of business.’

Jay Z didn’t disagree with that advice on principle, but rumors say that he expressed shock that West could be handing out marital advice when, as an anonymous source apparently told the Daily Star,

…he’s only been hitched two minutes.

Neither rapper has spoken publicly about the feud, though Kanye’s new mother-in-law did say she barely noticed Jay Z’s absence from the wedding, and wasn’t aware there was any disagreement in the matter.

There is some speculation, as noted by Huffington Post, that the big rift is just a publicity stunt, but if so, neither rapper is bothering to play it up on Twitter, where Kanye has posted only one tweet since his wedding photos, and Jay Z has posted only one this year.

It’s fair to say the little disagreement is getting the pair some attention, but there’s no real sign that it’s an act. If it is, it’s pretty low key compared to the usual public antics of the rapper who actually became a meme when he interrupted another singer’s acceptance of her MTV Video Music Award.

Meanwhile, with his marriage to Beyonce Knowles reportedly coming to an end, coupled with rumors that she’s pregnant, and rumors that Jay Z cheated on her with a reality show star, he probably has more than enough on his plate without creating any intentional drama.
