After four months of dating Jason Segel and Michelle Williams are said to be” totally in love” with each other, sources say.
The two, who were introduced by mutual pal actress Busy Philipps, were first spotted the day after The Academy Awards grabbing something to eat near Segel’s home which is located behind The Chateau Marmont. Since then the pair was spotted in March strolling around Michelle Williams’ Boerum Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn as well as in Manhattan.
Not only are they in love, but Jason Segel is said to be “obsessed with Michelle” with a source adding that, “It’s like the first girl he’s ever been this way with.” Segel was also photographed taking Williams’ 6-year-old daughter on a scooter ride in early March, and it seems like the actor has grown closer to Matilda since then. A source told Us Weekly he’s been “somewhat of a father figure” to the daughter, who’s father is the late actor Heath Ledger. “He’s been doing all sorts of ‘dad stuff’ with her, like drawing and playing music.”
Although the two have tried to keep a low profile on their relationship, they have made brief appearances at each other’s film premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival. Michelle Williams attended Segel’s The Five Year Engagement , which opened the festival, and Segel attended Michelle’s Tribeca run of Take This Waltz , which stars mutual costar and friend, Seth Rogen. Both appearances had eyewitnesses saying the pair were inseparable and very affectionate with each other.
Last Thursday Jason Segel was also spotted supporting Michelle yet again at the official premiere for Take This Waltz , and after at a party for the film at Manhattan’s Sons of Essex, where the they stayed close together. In April, when asked about the nature of his relationship with Williams, Segel told Extra , “I think we would just very much like to be happy. That’s all I’m going to say about it.”
Prior to her relationship with Segel, Michelle Williams was engaged and later split with late actor Heath Ledger. Shortly after his death, Williams dated director Spike Jonze for a year in 2008. Jason Segel in the past her been linked to Chloe Sevigny, and dated Freaks and Geeks costar Linda Cardellini for several years.
