Just recently we have touched upon Jason Reitman’s new film Labor Day , and what its future may look like when good old Oscar is considered. Now we have a first look at Labor Day , and we have to admit, it looks pretty good for its mixed reviews that it’s had at Telluride Film Festival.

As of right now Jason Reitman’s film is screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, so the fact that a clip would be released at this time isn’t a head scratcher. In fact, it’s something that we expect for Labor Day if it wants to build the buzz it needs for Oscar season.

Labor Day is about a mother (Kate Winslet) and son, who meet a man (Josh Brolin), and offer him a ride as he appears to be wounded. However, as the story goes on, this man turns out to be an escaped convict, and the mother and son learn about his story and their options are limited. Though their options are limited, their scenario has been explained that two are willingly held captive.

In addition to Labor Day , Reitman is eyeing a project that sees him re-teaming with Juno star Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, and Rosemarie DeWitt, which is scheduled to shoot in November.

In the clip for Labor Day , it seems as though Kate Winslet’s character and her son are trying to figure out what to do with Josh Brolin’s character now that it has been revealed that he’s an escaped convict. It’s not as intense as we would have first thought, but it seems to do the trick to get us interested in seeing the whole thing.

Reitman’s Labor Day will be out in theaters in limited release on December 25, which is a bit late in Oscar season, but that’s not a huge concern when looking to last year’s December releases and how well they did at the Oscars.
