Some users took to Twitter to ask “Is Netflix down?” The streaming service was down for some users on Tuesday night. An alleged “site error” caused the downtime. Netflix didn’t give any information as to when the service would return.

Netflix’s customer service account, NetflixHelps , responded to tweets from users who were able to sign in and watch movies and TV shows from its popular service. The Netflix home page was blank for some users, while other parts of the service gave users an error message.

Netflix announced that it was experiencing technical issues in different regions of the world. According to third-party status site, Down Detector , Netflix was down in the United States, United Kingdom and some parts of South America.

The streaming service was not working on the Web or mobile devices, including apps for Android and iPhone. The Netflix service was also reportedly down on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, along with PlayStation 3, PS4, Chromecast, Roku, and other devices.

We’re aware some members are experiencing technical difficulties on the web site in all regions. We hope to resolve this asap.

Netflix confirmed on Twitter that even though the issue is widespread, it was only affecting some users. That didn’t stop users from exploding on Twitter about the downtime. The streaming service accounts for 35 percent of Internet traffic in the U.S., according to International Business Times .

Netflix appears to be back online now for some users. The outage reportedly last for over an hour on Tuesday night. It may not seem that long for some users, but it was enough for some who took to social networking sites to express their outage.

The video streaming service has over 33 million subscribers in over 40 countries, according to CNBC . Netflix reportedly went down around 3:40 p.m. Pacific time. It came back up for Web streaming around 4:49 p.m. Pacific Time. Netflix announced at 5:17 p.m. Pacific Time that everything was resolved. The mobile and app versions of Netflix were still experiencing errors at that time.

The streaming issues we reported earlier have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience, and as always, happy streaming!

By 6:02 p.m. Pacific Time, Netflix announced that all of the issues were resolved. It also appears that the Web and mobile version of the streaming service was also working. Most users were also getting access the app on Android, but were still seeing some errors. Netflix should have all of their issues resolved by Wednesday morning.

The best way to tell if Netflix is down is to see if everyone else is experiencing problems. Users typically go to Twitter and other social networking sites if there’s an outage. You will typically see a trending a topic that says “ Netflix is down .” Netflix outages are a common occurrence and may happen a few times a year. But it can be frustrating when you plan on binge-watching your favorite shows.
