Is Ben Affleck Blaming Jennifer Lopez For Career Failures Amid Reconciliation Rumors?

Ben Affleck has supposedly taken a slight dig at Jennifer Lopez by branding her as the reason for some of his biggest career failures, it has been reported.

Ben, who famously dumped his then-fiancée in January 2004, is said to have opened up about some of his struggles regarding the relationship and how it ended up affecting his career in the film business, somewhat seeming to blame Jennifer for certain movie flops, Celeb Dirty Laundry alleges.

“Ben Affleck still has some strong feelings about his relationship with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. In fact, Ben says he’s still emotionally scarred over it,” the outlet writes. “The Hollywood actor opened up about their relationship and said his romance with Jennifer was the reason why he suffered so many career failures after their break up.”

Of course, what the outlet is reporting isn’t far from what Ben Affleck has mentioned himself in the past, stressing that there was so much attention surrounding his relationship with Lopez that more important things were often overshadowed because of the media’s fascination by the romance.

Affleck insinuates that the press overlooked some of his movies, and instead of focusing their attention on his movies that were coming out at the time, they were more interested in discussing Ben Affleck’s whirlwind of a relationship with the “Booty” singer.

Because of his struggle to accept the fact that his romance was more of a hot topic in Hollywood than his acting career, that is still believed to be the reason as to why Ben Affleck ended up parting ways with Jennifer, who he still claims to be good friends with, as affirmed by Mirror .

It’s hard to imagine how Lopez feels about her supposed friend’s comments regarding their time as a couple, because according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Affleck partially blames her as the reason behind Affleck’s career stalling after having starred in several blockbuster hits at the time.

“Of course, a lot of sources say that it was Jennifer who was constantly pushing the couple in the spotlight all the time,” the webloid continues. “She wanted to generate as much publicity from their relationship as possible.”

“Jennifer wanted the media to treat them as the most epic love story in Hollywood’s history. Unfortunately, their constant media coverage backfired against them. After the couple broke up, Ben had four movies in a row that bombed at the box office. And he says it’s because everyone was simply sick of seeing him and Jennifer Lopez in the media every single day.”

Judging from CDL ‘s report, Ben Affleck was more than desperate to get out of the relationship with Jennifer, mainly because he allegedly wanted to get his career back on track, and staying with Lopez was going to prevent him from doing so.

As the outlet already mentions, the heavy media coverage surrounding Ben Affleck and Jennifer is what the actor allegedly believes was the main reason why so many of his movies either went straight to DVD or struggled to make any sort of profits from their small earnings, losing production companies tens of millions in costs.

Luckily enough, Affleck was able to gather himself and get his career back on track — to the point where he’s now often assigned the director position for films such as Argo and The Batman.

News of Ben Affleck’s alleged comments regarding his failed relationship with Jennifer comes just months after reports claimed the twosome were back on speaking terms, with one source claiming that there was a possibility that Ben and Jennifer would get back together.

Neither Ben Affleck nor Jennifer has responded to the claims.
