The iPhone 7 won’t be announced for several months, but there is already speculation on what 2017’s iPhone will be like. MacRumors has the news.
“Apple is planning a major overhaul of the iPhone for 2017, including the adoption of an all-new curved glass casing paired with a curved 5.8-inch AMOLED display, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.”
“5.8 in screen with thin bezels in the 5.5 form factor… I’m in,” says Arggg14.
“This is great news. My only wish is that it releases in early 2017, so that i don’t have to wait 18 months to get this,” says Misterpip.
The rumors of the 2017 iPhone come less than a week after the first possible real photo of the iPhone 7 Plus appeared on Mac Rumors . The site talked about the iPhone 7 Plus’ camera
“The most notable change is the inclusion of a much-rumored dual-lens camera with a protruding, pill-shaped enclosure, as opposed to two separate circular camera openings depicted in some online renderings.”
MacRumors adds that the dual-lens camera is accompanied by a microphone and an LED flash, as seen on previous iPhones, while the antenna bands have been relocated to the top and bottom edges of the smartphone. Reportedly, there are also three small dots on the bottom of the iPhone 7 Plus that are likely in place for a Smart Connector, which is a new interface introduced by the iPad Pro.
“Apple has been granted a patent for new EarPod headphones, which could hint at what’s going to ship with the new iPhone 7. The new patent, granted on Tuesday, is for headphones that connect to an iPhone both wirelessly and with a wire. They can be used without being plugged in, but have a connector that lets you magnetically attach a cord to the earbuds and plug the other end into a jack.”
In other words, Apple has patented a unique concept: hybrid, detachable headphones. They’re wireless when you want them to be and have a wire when you need one. Still, there are quite a few iPhone fanatics who are upset about Apple going wireless, with many signing a petition against Apple’s plans at the Some of Us petition site.
“Apple is about to rip off every one of its customers. Again. Forbes and FastCompany are reporting that Apple plans to ditch the standard 3.5mm headphone jack when it releases the iPhone 7 later this year. Only a massive international campaign can force Apple to change course now,” the petition, which has received nearly 300,000 signatures, claims.
