Say goodbye to ad free Instagram. The growing site has announced that users will start seeing ads on their timelines coming soon .

It was meant to happen, the nature of running a successful business, but will this turn off loyal users, like teens and celebrities?

Probably, though as with everything else, we will get used to it.

The company says it will focus its efforts on “delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community.”

Really? It doesn’t matter how beautiful the photos are, users don’t normally like to see ads on any site.

It’s annoying enough when you visit any website nowadays, to have to close pop-up ads.

The US is the first lucky country who will be hit by the ads when they roll out.

The move shouldn’t really come as a surprise, since Instagram’s parent company, Facebook has been advertising for a while now.

As with Facebook, users will thankfully have the option to hide the ads.

Twitter also posts paid ads to users timelines, although in this case one cannot hide them from coming through.

Instagram has become one of the most used sites when it comes to photo sharing, the YouTube of photography, you could call it.

Millions of users share their pics with friends via the site. Video sharing was recently added to the services offered by the site, although it hasn’t caught on as much as the photo sharing has.

If you are asking yourself why Instagram would do this to its loyal users, well, it’s just something that makes sense.

The company has to survive somehow and since most use it for free, it has to come up with another way to make money.

Instagram ads won’t change the fact that users still own the rights to any and all photos and videos they post on the site, the company clarified.
