According to Mashable , the above graph represents instances of the terms “break up” or “broken up” from random Facebook Status updates over a calendar year.
While it would be slightly more interesting to analyze relationship status changes, it’s still compelling that the instances of these terms being used seem to spike around vacation-heavy periods and gift-giving holidays.
