Indiana Pacers rumors have the team signing Bojan Bogdanovic to a two-year deal. The Washington Wizards passed on Bogdanovic Friday morning (July 7), pulling back a qualifying offer for the guard. A new report by ESPN analyst Adrian Wojnarowski states that the Pacers and Bogdanovic have agreed to a two-year, $21 million contract.

In three seasons split between the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets, Bojan Bogdanovic appeared in 238 games (121 starts), averaging 11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Bogdanovic shoots a lot of three-pointers, averaging 4.1 per game over his NBA career. He is a 36.9 percent shooter from long range.

Originally, the Wizards had extended a qualifying offer to Bogdanovic but took it off the table in order to move a different direction. That cleared the way for another franchise to swoop in, with the Indiana Pacers wasting no time doing it. The Pacers have needed to find more offense in free agency after trading away Paul George, and this is a player who can give it to the team from the small forward position.

These latest Indiana Pacers rumors continue the transactions that the team had completed this NBA offseason to move in a completely new direction. Earlier in the summer, the Pacers traded Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder, acquiring Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis to finish up the deal.

Bojan Bogdanovic was traded by the Brooklyn Nets, along with Chris McCullough going to the Washington Wizards, for Andrew Nicholson, Marcus Thornton, and a 2017 first-round draft pick ( Jarrett Allen was later selected). The Wizards used him down the stretch and in the postseason, getting the most out of Bogdanovic, but the team decided that he wasn’t going to play into the long-term plans of the franchise.

Now, Bogdanovic heads to the Indiana Pacers, where he is going to immediately become a hot topic among fantasy basketball owners. He should see an increase in minutes and shot opportunities for the Pacers, making him a really good pick in later rounds. He should also give Pacers fans a lot to cheer about, though it will be tough to replace Paul George as the favorite player among fans of the team. Additional Indiana Pacers rumors state that the team isn’t done making moves, so more players could join Bogdanovic soon.
