Ian Somerhalder And Nikki Reed Celebrate Their One Year Anniversary, Did Their Baby News Leave Nina Dobrev ‘Devastated’?

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed might be gearing up to welcome a new baby into the family. Somerhalder and the former Twilight star recently celebrated their one year anniversary and hinted that a child is in the works. How did his ex-girlfriend and former Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev react to the baby news?

According to Hollywood Life , Reed recently shared her plans for having a baby during a Kiehl’s event for Earth Day. Although Reed did not announce that she was pregnant, her comments hinted that she still had plans to start a family with The Vampire Diaries star.

“I’m sure that’s in the cards,” Reed told E! News during the event.

Reed’s comments follow revelations that Somerhalder has always wanted to have children of his own. In fact, an inside source told the outlet that Somerhalder and Reed are planning on having kids at some point in their marriage. Unfortunately, that might not come as soon as fans have hoped since both stars are very busy in their respective careers.

“Babies are going to be a part of Nikki and Ian’s life but not anytime soon,” the insider shared. “They like living their lives as a couple and are not ready to add anyone else to that. They are focused on career goals and being a couple only right now.”

Meanwhile, Ecumenical News is reporting that Reed’s comments came shortly after the couple celebrated their one year anniversary. To honor the milestone, Somerhalder uploaded an image of Reed on Instagram and revealed that they are currently filming Years of Living Dangerously. National Geographic is producing the series and filming is taking place in the middle of the ocean.

The fact that Reed and Somerhalder have remained together for over a year has come as a surprise to some fans, especially considering all the break-up rumors the two have battled in recent months. Part of the reason why they have been able to stick it out is because of their shared love for animals and the environment, which has translated into a lot of charitable work together.

“My goal and Nikki’s goal in life is literally — my goal in particular — is to build for-profit entities that will literally feed our necessary non-prof initiatives till the end of time,” Ian Somerhalder explained in an interview with Us Magazine . “We definitely share that passion together in a very huge way.”

Although Somerhalder and Reed are clearly busy with a number of difference projects, Somerhalder’s schedule is about to free up considerably. In fact, the actor recently announced that he is going to leave The Vampire Diaries after the upcoming season.

With so much free time on his hands, Somerhalder will have plenty of opportunities to start the family he has reportedly always wanted. This is certainly good news for Somerhalder, though it appears as though his ex-girlfriend is not taking the baby news so well.
