HiSense Pulse Delivers ‘Fastest’ Google TV Box On The Market [CES 2013]

SmartTVs and the technology that powers them are being highlighted en masse at CES 2013, and the team at HiSense claims to have the fastest Google TV 3.0 box on the market. Indeed, my early, yet brief, testing of the product did reveal super fast display times with an easy to navigate controller for the units.

Admittedly, the Google TV box from HISense is nothing out of the ordinary (pictured above), featuring a standard glossy design that offers basic connectivity.

The HiSense Pulse weighs just 2 pounds and provides 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P480i, 480P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P output alongside a Google Chrome browser for on-set internet browsing.

The Pulse also offers HDMI Input/Output: 1/1; USB (H.264/MPEG-4/AVC): 1, IR Blaster:1;RJ45:1; Adaptor/Power Cord: 1, Wi-Fi Built-In: DLNA (PIP/POP) and is powered by three AAA battery’s.

The most impressive part of the HiSense Pulse may be its remote control, which features standard navigation options alongside a trackpad (which works well with the Chrome Chrome browser) and voice activation. Unfortunately, the booth next to HiSense was loud, and we couldn’t test voice activation on the remote. When voice activation is working properly, it can be accessed via a simple audio button located on the remote.

Flipping the remote over then reveals a full qwerty keypad, which can be used for Google TV searches, web browsing, and any other functions found on the HiSense Pulse.

Overall, I found the keyboard to be relatively comfortable to use, despite the fact that I often “fat finger” keys on my touchscreen based devices.

Overall, the HiSense Pulse remote was easy to use, although a bit bulky because of its extras.

If you are looking for a high end Google TV box that provides fast access times with easy accessibility to your favorite programs, I would definitely recommend taking a closer look at the HiSense Pulse
