Hillary Clinton 2016: America Must ‘Empathize’ With Enemies

Hillary Clinton is under fire for saying the United States should “empathize” and show “respect” for its enemies.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, a long-time Democratic pollster believes Mitt Romney would beat Hillary Clinton if he chose to run for the Republican ticket, and Donald Trump may be a 2016 presidential candidate.

During a speech at Georgetown University, Mrs. Clinton spoke about what she called “smart power,” which entails “using every possible tool and partner to advance peace and security, leaving no one on the sidelines, showing respect, even for one’s enemies, trying to understand and insofar as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view, helping to define the problems, determine the solutions.”

According to Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, Hillary Clinton “just wrote off being president of the United States.” North said her comments were “irrational” and Clinton’s definition of “smart power” is more like saying the U.S. has no power.

“I can’t think of a presidential candidate who would have said those kinds of things. Think about December 7, 1941 and then FDR going to the Congress of the United States the next day saying, ‘We need to have more empathy for Japan.'”

North added, “If you’re going to run for president of the United States, you cannot talk that way about the people who intend to kill us. Who are dying to kill us…. This is capitulation.”

The language echoes that of candidate Obama in 2007, reported National Review , when he talked of “direct diplomacy” with the United States’ mortal enemies. By speaking of sympathy and tolerance for American adversaries, Clinton may be seeking to quell left-wing criticism that her views on foreign policy are too hawkish for a Democratic presidential nominee.

Below is the clip by itself of Hillary Clinton saying America must “empathize” with its enemies.
