Harry Styles’ latest promo gig for his recently-released self-titled debut album was a big surprise to his fans, considering it was a last minute show in Los Angeles. The former One Direction member had the Troubadour closed up on May 19 to perform his first full U.S. concert as a solo artist. Apparently, that wasn’t the only surprise Styles had for his fans.
As reported by Variety, Styles only made the announcement for his concert that afternoon. Proceeds from the concert tickets have been donated to the Safe Place for Youth charity. The 23-year-old heartthrob performed an hour-long show featuring most of the latest tracks from the Harry Styles album . He kicked off the show with an introduction describing the concert to be the “best night of my life.”
“Tonight is already really the best night of my life, so thanks so much for being here,” Styles told everyone in the room.
The first song he performed was “Ever Since New York” with a guitar in his hand. Later on, fans got a big surprise when Styles introduced his very special guest, rock legend Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.
“If there was any doubt, I’m pretty sure I’d like to confirm, in my entire life, I never thought I’d be able to say this. Please welcome to the stage, Stevie Nicks.”

Styles performed three songs with the rock queen: their duet and mixing of vocals for Nicks’ “Landslide,” a track from Styles’ album, “Two Ghosts,” and “Leather and Lace.” Nicks took the time to share a story about the hit song, “Landslide,” saying that it’s the only one track that gets played perfectly at every single show.
As Nicks was giving the history, Harry stepped off the stage to listen to his idol talk, just like everyone else. He then joined her to perform their last duet, “Leather and Lace.”

Fans weren’t the only ones who were dumbfounded to see Styles and Nicks share the stage, but the crooner himself admitted that he couldn’t keep it together after the queen of rock n’ roll left the stage.
“I am losing my s— in a cool way.”
Styles finished his show with the last song in the playlist, “ Sign of the Times,” before saying his goodbyes to all his fans. The British star revealed that he will be back in L.A. in September “not doing anything, just roaming the streets.”
Meanwhile, Harry’s debut solo album is going strong and is predicted to land the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, experts say. It’s too early to tell since the album was made available to the public on May 12 but according to sources, there will be a consumption of more than 250,000 album units in the U.S. by May 18. In the U.K., Harry already claimed the top spot.
Harry’s numbers surpass his former bandmate’s, Zayn Malik, whose album Mind of Mine released in March, earned 157,000 equivalent album units and entered the charts at No. 1 in the U.S. As noted by Billboard, Styles could be the second U.K. male artist to reach the top spot with a debut album if he will indeed make it. Styles is going head to head with hip hop artist, Logic.
Even with Harry’s success, former bandmate Liam Payne, who himself released his single recently, admitted that he’s not really into his music. He got candid about the other One Direction members’ solo projects. In an interview with Music Choice Now, the “Strip That Down” singer made a comment (see video below) on Niall Horan’s singles and described it to be “great” and “cool.”
As for Harry’s album, Payne said that it’s not the kind of material that he’s into. Nevertheless, he is happy about his bandmate getting to do what he always loved.
“It’s not something I’d listen to, but I think he did a great job of doing what he wanted to do. That’s the way I’d put it best, I think.”
