Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are reportedly spending their days together at the hospital where he continues to recover after a plane crash nearly two weeks ago.
According to several news reports, Flockhart visits her injured husband on a daily basis, after dropping their 14-year-old son, Liam, at school. She brings him his favorite foods and books to read and pass the time.
Harrison Ford suffered a “pancake” sized injury to his head, an eyewitness said, after crashing his vintage World War II plane on a California golf course on March 5 and has been hospitalized ever since. Calista Flockhart immediately rushed to his bedside and has been giving her ailing husband a lot of TLC.
“She drops Liam off in the morning and then spends hours with Harrison,” a source told People magazine. “She brings him food and reading material.”
This is not the first time in the past year that Calista Flockhart has been forced to drop everything to be at Harrison Ford’s hospital bedside. The veteran actor was injured on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in London, when a hydraulic door to his character, Han Solo’s legendary spaceship, the Millennium Falcon, fell on his leg.
Ford was sidelined from the production for a time, but recovered quickly and was able to join his co-stars to complete filming. At that time, Calista Flockhart, 50, took the intercontinental flight filled with worry about her 72-year-old husband and his condition.
Now, being close to home makes things easier for Flockhart, though not less worrisome, even though the information we have at this time suggests that the daredevil Ford will make a full recovery from his injuries. The couple married in 2010, after dating for eight years, and the latest mishap has them both “terrified,” despite their common love of flying.
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are, by all appearances, one of those rare cases of a happy Hollywood marriage and stay mostly out of the limelight.
“Harrison and Calista are all about family life,” an insider says of the power couple, “Their life before and after they got married is focused on Liam.”
“Calista loves to fly, and I’m thrilled because it’s so important to me and it’s the kind of thing that’s so much more fun with somebody who really enjoys it,” Ford told People in 2003.
It is unclear how this latest plane crash, Harrison Ford’s third, will influence his enjoyment of the past time and if Calista Flockhart will make him stop flying. In the meantime, she is showing just how strong their marriage really is.
