Fans of the Batman franchise within DC Comics rejoiced with the latest episode of Arrow . One of the most well-known and respected Batman villains, Harley Quinn, made her debut on the television series.
As reported by Screen Crush , there have been weeks of speculation of Harley Quinn’s possible involvement in Arrow . This included a picture of a pig-tailed blonde in one of the A.R.G.U.S. cells. With Arrow ‘s latest episode, fans got a bigger treat as a “mysterious female prisoner”, in one of the A.R.G.U.S. cells, offered counseling advice to characters, Diggle and Lyla. The “mysterious female prisoner” also noted her experienced as a trained therapist. Her face, however, was shadowed, but background light, within the cell, showed she was blonde with pig-tails. Her name wasn’t mentioned but her voice may be a dead giveaway. It unmistakably belonged to actress, Tara Strong, the current voice of Harley Quinn from Batman: Arkham City , replacing original actress, Arleen Sorkin.
For those who haven’t been following the DC universe as of late, the latest episode was a huge foreshadowing for Harley Quinn’s appearance. The title of the episode is Suicide Squad . How the title relates to Harley Quinn is she’s one of the characters of the Suicide Squad, a group of villains who are forced to do good. The original Suicide Squad story started back in the 1950s, but was rebooted with a new continuity storyline in DC’s The New 52 .
It is unknown if Harley Quinn will make further appearances in the show. As of now, Harley is only a cameo. But fans, on both Facebook and Twitter, have expressed their satisfaction for Harley Quinn’s inclusion as reported by News Max . Also, the fact that a Batman villain made a cameo in Arrow has raised another hope. Will Arrow eventually have an appearance by the dark knight, Batman?
