Celebrity chef Guy Fieri might consider franchising Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar , and bringing the famously maligned menu to the Las Vegas Strip.
Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar was infamous from the word “go” thanks to a scathing review from New York Times food critic Pete Wells . Still, Fieri’s fame has apparently made his Times Square restaurant enough of a success that he’s considering opening another in Las Vegas.
There’s a rumor floating around that Fieri plans to open his second restaurant at Ceasar’s Palace’s The Linq. Opening soon, Linq is described as an “open-air retail, dining and entertainment district located on the 50-yard line of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.”
Fieri currently owns three separate chain restaurants in California: Johnny Garlic’s, Tex Wasabi’s, and Guy’s Burger Joint. Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar was his first venture outside of his home state.
A graduate of UNLV, Fieri does have ties to the Vegas scene. He also hinted recently that he would be opening a new restaurant in a major city sometime in 2013, but didn’t give any more details. Additionally, his publicist has not commented on the current rumor.
If he gets the Vegas g0-ahead, Fieri’s second restaurant would join the second location of Brooklyn Bowl, Flour & Barley, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and The Tilted Kilt. Fieri’s restaurant wasn’t included in The Linq’s press release , but his inclusion was hinted at by John Curtas on his Twitter account.
