Strait’s farewell tour will include many familiar opening acts. Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Miranda Lambert, Ronnie Dunn, and Merle Haggard, are all expected to appear during the tour.

George Strait contends that he is not retiring. As reported by Dallas Morning News , removing the touring schedule will allow him to work at his own pace. Strait explains the future of his career:

“My plan is to keep doing things here and there, when I feel like it… Hopefully those opportunities will come along for me, ’cause I can’t see hangin’ it up for good forever. As long as I enjoy it, I’m gonna keep doing it.”

Strait chose the AT&T Stadium for his final show. In June 2009, Straight opened the Cowboys Stadium. Five years later, he will say farewell at the same venue.

As reported by GeorgeStrait.com , the country superstar is a native of Poteet, Texas.

Strait has worked with MCA Records, Nashville, throughout his entire career. He has the distinction of more #1 singles than any performer in history.
