The Friends reunion finally has gone from rumors and wishes to reality. And although Matthew Perry has an excuse as to why he won’t be there for you, the rest of the Friends cast from Jennifer Aniston to Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Courtney Cox are set to make it a reunion show to remember, reported Rolling Stone.
With Matthew set to appear separately, the Friends reunion will last two hours and honor James Burrow, the famed director. The air date is set for February 21, with NBC broadcasting the special. Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman, explained what he had originally hoped for the Friends reunion during a Television Critics Association panel.
“I’m hoping that all six of them will be there in the same room at the same time. I don’t know if logistically we can pull that off,” he admitted.
As for the Friends reunion, Matthew Perry explained why he can’t make it and how he will participate, reported Entertainment Weekly.
The actor has rehearsals in London for a play, The End of Longing. So rather than join his cast mates in the United States, Matthew will remain in London and provide an intro for the Friends reunion crew.
While Matthew won’t be there for the Friends reunion, Jennifer is getting ready by slimming down to rock viewers with her bangin’ body. Aniston recently shared her diet secrets, with protein as the key for breakfast, reported People.
“Sometimes it’s a smoothie—bananas, cherries, a protein powder of some sort, almonds, cacao powder, and all sorts of other weird antioxidant stuff I can’t remember—with almond milk,” said the Friends actress.
“I crack them into a bowl and I’ll add a white or two into that and pour it all into the pan to get more protein sans too much yolk age. I’ll have that with avocado toast sprinkled with olive oil and salt and pepper,” explained Jennifer.
She alternates it with oatmeal, upping the protein by whipping in egg whites at the end of the cooking cycle. But don’t think that she’s boringly virtuous.
“Homemade, really good, fluffy-crispy tortilla chips,” Jennifer listed as her weakness.
The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life is a vegan food plan. Dieters replace every meal with some form of taco, and the cookbook is authored by four “taco scientists” who say that they followed it and used it for weight loss for 30 days.
“I’m riveted [by the Taco Cleanse],” admitted Jennifer.
No word yet on whether tacos will be included in the Friends reunion. As for the possibility that the cast members would do more than reunite and actually do a reboot or spin-off of Friends? Most of the Friends cast has been candid in stating that they feel they are too old, reported the Daily Mail.
Lisa Kudrow insisted that she feels her age precludes the possibility.
“I’m too old,” said Lisa. “I wouldn’t even have an interest in seeing what those people are doing 10 years later as parents that have to be responsible. It would be so different that it wouldn’t be Friends anymore.”
Matt LeBlanc agreed that getting older takes away from the charm of Friends.
“Friends was about a finite period of time in your life, like after college and before your life really gets started,” pointed out Matt. “That’s sort of where you’re away from home and you’re away from college, and your friends are your family. Once that’s over, nobody wants to see Joey at his prostate exam,” he laughed.
