A 3-year-old girl in Florida died days after her head got stuck in a kitchen playset. The incident happened in a residence in the Boynton Beach community. Authorities report the incident occurred around 11 a.m. while the toddler was under the supervision of her longtime babysitter.
It was a tragic day when the incident happened around 11 a.m. on July 23, 2026. The mother of the kids left them under the care of their longtime babysitter. The babysitter had gone out for a minute and had asked her husband to look after the toddler.
He checked on the kids periodically, making sure they were fine. Meanwhile, he was staying upstairs in the house while the two kids were playing with toys, one of which was a kitchen playset. The 3-year-old girl got her head stuck inside the toy.
When the babysitter’s husband saw this, he tried to help the child get out of the toy. He called for emergency support while performing life-saving measures until help arrived. First responders from the Boynton Beach Police Department and Boynton Beach Fire Rescue arrived at the residence. They tried to administer lifesaving measures to the toddler.
When the first responders arrived at home, the child was not breathing. The child was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on July 27. At the time of the report, no charges had been filed. The case is still under investigation and is a developing story.

The family, friends, and neighbors are grieving the loss of the child. The investigators have not yet revealed the model or name of the kitchen playset that proved to be fatal for the child. One of the neighbors told reporters, “Michelle lives a few houses away from where the incident happened. Heaviness on the whole street. And it’s never been like this. You know, it’s really sad. I haven’t seen too many of them since it happened.”
Meanwhile, Kathy Wall, director of Safe Kids, Palm Beach, had a message for all the parents. She said, “Our kids are our greatest assets. They’re our future. And we have to be present for them day to day. We have to have active supervision and keep them safe.”
