‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 2, Episode 5 ‘Captive’ Sneak Peek — Madison And Strand Argue Over Nick [Video]

Can Travis and Alicia be rescued by Madison and Strand in Episode 5 of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead? Apparently only if Madison and Strand stop arguing first.

The official synopsis for Episode 5 is as follows.

“Alicia works to reunite with her family. Travis meets a familiar face. Madison and Nick lead a charge to save their family against all odds.”

While it is Alicia’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) fault the group on board the Abigail have been separated, at least it seems like she will step up to the plate and assist in rescue anyway she can. Even if that means sucking up to Jack (Daniel Zovatto), as we saw her tentatively do in Episode 4 (entitled “Blood in the Streets”) of Fear The Walking Dead. But will it be enough to help her and Travis (Cliff Curtis) escape the pirates who took them hostage?

According to Travis in the initial teaser for Episode 5 of Fear The Walking Dead, he thinks she should try to escape at any cost, even if it means leaving him behind. But could Travis have another plan considering he meets up with a “familiar face” during Episode 5? Perhaps he does, but just who is that familiar face? And will they be friendly? According to the official synopsis, regardless of whether Alicia and Travis can escape the pirates, help is also on its way in the form of Alicia’s mother, Madison (Kim Dickens) and her son (and Alicia’s brother), Nick (Frank Dillane). However, in the process, it seems the owner of the Abigail, Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) and Madison develop some conflict in relation to Strand asking Nick to sneak off in Episode 4 of Fear The Walking Deadto meet up with Strand’s business associate, Luis Flores (Arturo Del Puerto). Will their bickering throw them off course in their mission to rescue Travis and Alicia?

But didn’t Episode 4 of Fear The Walking Dead see Strand in a bad way after being shot at on the raft he was using to try and escape the Abigail when he realised it had been overrun by pirates? Is Strand even up for an argument? Yes, he was in a bad way, but, according to the Wall Street Journal, Strand is suffering from hypothermia and not a gunshot wound.

So, as he recovers, Madison has something to say to him about using Nick as a pawn in his endgame of escaping to an apparent safe house in Mexico. Yet, as the synopsis states, herself and Nick set out to rescue Alicia and Travis — so is it a matter of, “Do as I say, not as I do” as far as it goes with Madison and her son?

Interesting to note in the following sneak peek into Episode 5 of Fear The Walking Dead, is the fact that Madison starts her spiel with the sentence, “One more thing, don’t send Nick on any more errands.” So, it appears Madison has a list of things that annoy her about Strand. Interesting. Could she also be setting out the ground rules for how things are going to be on board the Abigailnow that Madison saved Strand’s life in Episode 4 of Fear The Walking Dead? It sure seems like it.
