Vin Diesel and Paul Walker still have some Fast And The Furious magic left in them. The duo, alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson helped Fast Five earn $83.6 million at the box office this past weekend, giving the movie the number one spot by a landslide.
The movie easily beat Fast Furious which took in $71 million over opening weekend two years ago, while it also set an April record for opening day with $33.2 million brought it on Friday alone. The movie also earned $81.4 million overseas bringing it’s total haul worldwide to $165 million in just three days.
Taking second place was Rio which took in another $14.4 million after weeks of wide release.
