Fallout 4 DLC: Automatron, Wasteland Workshop And Far Harbor – Release Window Confirmed!

Fallout 4 players were extremely anxious for DLC content, not to mention rather impatient about it, seemingly moments after the game released. Selling 12 million copies in its first 24 hours, Fallout 4 shattered sales records and ruined relationships worldwide as players were sucked in, never to return — at least, until they ran out of content.
Thankfully for Fallout 4 players, over the past month we’ve seen an outpouring of DLC content. The first DLC pack, Automatron, dropped last month on March 22, adding significant amounts of new items, enemies, and locations. It also added a new quest chain, taking the player through numerous new areas to an encounter with The Mechanist — a villain, and possible NPC (depending on how the quest is resolved) whose appearance is a nod to another Mechanist, who was a minor character in Fallout 3. This Mechanist — a.k.a. Isabel Cruz 0 is a lot more significant and fleshed-out, though… and decidedly less male than her counterpart from Fallout 3, Scott “Bean” Wollinski.
Either way, the player gets to keep that, er, awesome armor.
Aside from the capture and combat features, Wasteland Workshop also adds some handy settlement additions like a full-scale Fusion Generator, neon lighting, and various other cosmetics.
Finally, as has long been suspected since someone abstracted a hidden harpoon gun from Fallout 4 ‘s files – as previously reported by the Inquisitr – Fallout 4 ‘s third DLC pack was recently announced, called Far Harbor. A report from GamingBolt indicates that Far Harbor will take place on an entirely new landmass and will not only be the largest Fallout 4 DLC to date, it is also purportedly the largest piece of post-release content that Bethesda has ever done, as per GottaBeMobile, stating that Bethesda VP Pete Hines responded on Twitter that Far Harbor will outclass the Shivering Isles from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, although it will allegedly contain less total content.
“In this first run [of DLC], Far Harbor is the largest. But, we kind of priced that based on what we’ve done before so you can look at Far Harbor and say ‘Well, even though the land mass is bigger, it doesn’t have as much content as Shivering Isles – which was $30- but it has more than Dawnguard, which was $20.”
Far Harbor allegedly expands on the Children of the Atom, a radiation-worshiping cult that appeared in both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 — you might remember them from way back in Megaton near the start of Fallout 3, worshiping the unexploded bomb in the center of town.
Not much information is available on Far Harbor yet, but new settlement items were spotted in a livestream – a barn and a “Vim Machine,” whatever that might be. Other players digging through game files have found references to a new type of Yao Guai, a texture map for a giant squid, and, yes, references to the harpoon gun that was previously leaked.
Fallout 4: Far Harbor is set for release this May for $24.99 without a season pass.
