Facebook Gifts has now expanded to cover all of the United States while also offering the option to send wine to friends in your Facebook list.

If you have not had the chance to test Facebook Gifts , the program allows you to send real physical gifts to friends. Users can send gifts and digital gift cards, post money to charitable organizations on behalf of Facebook friends, and even send wine.

Facebook is going hard with wine sales, partnering with the following winemakers:

“Amuse Bouche, Blackbird, Bonterra, Capture Wines, Clark-Claudon, David Family, Domaine Chandon, Goose Cross, Mondavi, Mutt Lynch, Recuerdo, Tasting Room, Terra Valentine, Titus, Twisted Oak, and Wine Country Gift Baskets.”

Fear not FB parents, the social network has taken steps to ensure that your 12-year-old doesn’t send their friends wine. First, Facebook requires that a users age already be listed at 21-years-0ld, and, second, the company is working with ShipCompliant, a company that works to verify user ages through various checks including delivery verification through identification checks.

Facebook has placed a large amount of emphasis on its social gift purchasing program as it attempts to build out new revenue streams that do not rely on the unpredictable display ad space. Facebook recently brought gifting to mobile devices and has experienced that moves revenue possibilities.

By removing itself from the actual fulfillment side of orders, Facebook can focus on social, and that, after all, is what the company does best.

Will you buy physical and digital good from the Facebook platform?
