Cricket fans are in for more excitement when they watch live online as England and New Zealand meet for the fourth ODI of their five-match One Day International Royal London series, with New Zealand fighting to build on its narrow 2-1 lead and clinch the series win with a victory in Wednesday’s match.
To learn how you can watch the Fourth England vs. New Zealand ODI live online, in streaming video from Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottinghamshire, England, check out the information included at the bottom of this article.
First ball is scheduled for 2 p.m. local time — 9 a.m. United States Eastern Time, 6 a.m. Pacific. But the weather forecast calls for light rain to start falling intermittently at around 1:15 p.m., and to continue on and off throughout the afternoon and early evening, so there is some chance that play could be delayed.
England have already suffered from inclement weather conditions in this ODI series. In the second match, facing a daunting run chase of 399 to win, England blasted their way to 54 runs shy with 37 deliveries remaining. But then the rains came.
When the skies cleared about 45 minutes later, the run chase had been adjusted, thanks to the controversial Duckworth-Lewis Method formula, to 34 runs to win off of a mere 13 balls — a requirement about twice as steep as prior to the rainfall. In the end, England came up 13 runs short.
In the third ODI, England’s new, highly aggressive approach, which has resulted in a 400-plus score and two 300-topping tallies, suddenly came under criticism from the same U.K. media that ripped England’s ODI side for the traditionally conservative style that saw the team slip ignominiously out of the Cricket World Cup at the group stage in March.
England stuck with its newfound aggression throughout the match, even though it ended up with the side bowled out after 45.2 overs — and a run total of just 302, which New Zealand were able to pass with six balls remaining.
Regardless, England ODI Captain Eoin Morgan has promised that the team will not scale back its newly explosive offense, so it appears that only the rain can keep England from another score topping 300 — and perhaps even 400 once again.
