Emily Maynard Was ‘Miserable’ In Relationship With Jef Holm, Friend Says

Emily Maynard confirmed the rumors that she and Jef Holm have parted ways and said that they remain on good terms, but a source close to the Bachelorette star says that wasn’t the case for the relationship itself.

A source close to Emily Maynard said the her decision to end the engagement with entrepreneur Jef Holm came after a very draining relationship.

“Emily just decided that she’s had enough,” the source told Us Weekly .

Another friend of Emily added that in the relationship,”Emily was extremely miserable. She was like, ‘I’m dying, I’m dying here.'”

Earlier this week, the 26-year-old Maynard announced that she ended her five-month engagement to Holm, but the speculation that the two were on the rocks came long before the announcement. News outlets started reporting on their relationship troubles back in the summer when Maynard reportedly texted Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Leinert.

Still, Maynard has put on a good public face, not going into any of the alleged troubles with the relationship.

She told People magazine:

“I am sorry to tell you that Jef and I have, indeed, parted ways. It was a very difficult and heartbreaking decision.

“As you know, at first I wasn’t sure that I should even be ‘The Bachelorette,’ but I am a hopeless romantic and I do believe in the show. I have no regrets because I did find love and shared an incredible journey with a really special person – and you know what, we tried our best because the love between us was so real.

“I have nothing but respect and love for Jef and his family, but ultimately we are just at different points in our lives.”
