‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 6 Finale Airs Tonight: Is This The End Of The Robertsons?

The Duck Dynasty Season 6 finale airs on Wednesday night, and some fans are wondering if tonight’s episode could be the last. According to The Epoch Times , the last two episodes of the season will air tonight back-to-back in a one hour event. With relatively low ratings (in comparison to what the show has produced in the past), it seems clear that A&E will be rethinking how they want to move forward with the franchise — or if they want to end their relationship with the Robertsons.

“Fans are wondering whether the show will be renewed for another season or canceled. There’s no official word yet, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It sometimes takes weeks or even months after a season ends for official confirmation of a renewal or cancellation.”

Duck Dynasty has had great success over the years… and not just with the show. As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the franchise is doing really well , even if A&E has seen a drop in ratings over the past year. While some might think that the Robertsons have overstayed their warm television welcome, there are a few people who disagree. Executive vice president and general manager of A&E Networks David McKillop, for example, believes that the Robertsons will be around for years to come… and that likely means A&E will renew the show for Season 7 — and beyond.

“It’s a strong, strong franchise and will continue for a number of years. I don’t think there’s any definitive proof that the controversy had an impact on the ratings. These things tend to burn very bright and then begin to settle into a plateau.”

The Duck Dynasty Twitter account has been active much of the day, promoting the finale and sharing a preview for tonight’s double episode. Things seem to be going just fine, regardless of the series ending chatter.

A&E will more than likely make an announcement about the status of the show in the coming weeks, as mentioned above. There are still millions of people who tune in each week, so letting it go now might not be smart. Do you watch Duck Dynasty ? Do you think the show has run its course or will the Robertsons be back for another season?
