A bike rack in Boston, England, was fixed by a group of drunk men after a booze filled night.

The group of five men were caught doing the honorable deed on CCTV cameras in the Lincolnshire town. They had been waiting outside of a takeaway, and were clearly in an intoxicated state, when they noticed that the metal bike rack was badly damaged.

The recorded footage then shows the posse working together for around 13 minutes at 3:00 in the morning as they straightened out the metal frame. The bike rack had previously been damaged by a car that had reversed into it, and had been left un-repaired for several weeks.

Boston Borough Council have since noted their surprise at the group’s work, and called it “public spirited.”

Stephen Woodliffe, a Councillor for the town, stated, “Young people often get a bad press and this shows there are some who want to contribute to their society and do the right thing.”

He added, “It shows young people acting in a very positive and constructive manner and shows they have a good and responsible attitude to what’s happening in their town.

Mr Woodliffe continued, “Their actions were very public spirited and impressive.” As he watched the footage he confessed that he found it “remarkable” that they’d all pulled together to fix the bike rack.

Mr Woodliffe noted that the damage had been reported to the council, however the group managed to fix it before a team of professionals.

He also confirmed that the CCTV footage shows the group “discussing a strategy” for around four minutes before they actually attempted to re-mould the rack, which was a huge metal hoop. They then proceeded to work together for around 13 minutes, before finally bringing it back into position.

Mr Woodliffe is now hoping for the men to come forward, so that they can be rewarded for their actions.
