Drake Slowly Turning Into Taylor Swift, Internet Meme Suggests

Drake is slowly yet undeniably turning into Taylor Swift, according to MTV.

The two artists , who only a few years ago were complete opposites, are manifesting signs that they could be “the same person,” as noted by MTV ‘s contributor Anne T. Donahue.

Drake and Swift have become incredibly close in the past 12 months. And while they remain friends and there is no evidence that the two could be dating, the “One Dance” rapper and the “Shake It Off” singer are gravitating towards each other’s music.

In addition to being inspired by each other’s music, Drake and the “Blank Space” singer attend each other’s birthday parties and spend quality time together. It’s even rumored that Swift has allowed the rapper to work on her edgy new sound.

Just three years ago – before the release of Swift’s huge hits “Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” and “Shake It Off” – no one would believe that Drake’s music would get so close to Swift. Back in 2013, Swift was still country-pop at her core.

But she started taking risks, and now the Taylor-Drake connection is not something extraordinary anymore. Just because Swift and Drake used to make entirely different kinds of music, Donahue argues that still, “deep down” they’re “the same person.”

Drake has even adopted Swift’s style of painting herself as a victim through her lyrics. Swift is famous for her breakup songs and fueling her feuds through lyrics. In October, Drake released the song “Two Birds, One Stone,” in which he addressed Kid Cudi’s diss.

Whether Drake and Swift are “the same person” or not, the rapper is enjoying the peak of his popularity now. Drake has more than doubled his last year’s Spotify streams , according to Fortune .

Spotify has recently released its top list of most streamed artists, and for the second year in a row, Drake is topping the annual list. Interestingly, the “Hotline Bling” rapper doubled his nearly two billion streams in 2015 and got more than 4.7 streams in 2016 alone.

This makes Drake the world’s most streamed artist of all time. While Drake attributes his enormous success to the release of album Views on April 29, 2016, it was his single “One Dance” that has brought him absolute success this year.

According to Spotify, Drake’s hit song, which topped Billboard’s Top 100 Songs chart for several months, has received a whopping 970 million streams this year. Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, and Kanye West – all absolute hitmakers of 2016 – rounded out the streaming service’s top five artists of this year.

Interestingly, while Drake has been Spotify’s top streamed male artist for two consecutive years in a row, his ex on and off girlfriend – Rihanna – has topped Spotify’s top streamed female artist list for two years in a row. In fact, her song “Work” has been streamed even more than Drake’s One Dance – a whopping 2.5 billion times.

While Drake’s bodyguards can’t make headlines by becoming the world’s top streamed artists, they can become popular by punching people, according to New York Daily News .

Drake’s bodyguard has allegedly punched a man for taking too much time in the bathroom. The whole thing took place at Los Angeles club Delilah on November 5. While everyone knows how annoying it can be to wait in line for the bathroom, the reason why Drake’s bodyguard punched the man was apparently because the “One Dance” hitmaker wanted privacy in the bathroom.

The victim filed a report to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
