Donald Trump’s New Campaign Hat: ‘Make Mexico Great Again Also’

Before Donald Trump’s big speech on Immigration on Wednesday in Phoenix, Arizona, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama were on stage. Any why exactly is this news? Well, because of the caps they wore during their speeches, which had the phrase “Make Mexico great again also” imprinted on them.

This is the first time such a hat has been worn in Trump’s campaign. And the first appearance of these hats comes only hours after Trump’s big diplomatic visit to Mexico, his first International visit as the republican presidential nominee.
The new headwear of the Trump campaign looks exactly the same as their popular “Make America Great Again” cap. Trump’s campaign reportedly spent a total of $207,868 on hats and $120,174 on ads in June, according to CNN Money.

Trump’s visit to Mexico was dismissed by former secretary of state and the democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, who pointed out the inconsistency between Trump’s claim and that of President Nieto. While Trump was claiming during his speech in Phoenix that the Mexican government would pay to build the wall, the Mexican president tweeted that their had been no such agreement. President Enrique Peña Nieto revealed that while the two had discussed the prospect of building a wall between their borders, he had made it clear at the beginning of their conversation that the Mexican government would not be paying for it.
Al inicio de la conversación con Donald Trump dejé claro que México no pagará por el muro.

His tweet translates to :
“At the beginning of the conversation with Donald Trump I made it clear that Mexico will not pay for the wall.”
And while Trump may want to “make Mexico great again also”, the people of Mexico weren’t particularly pleased with Trump’s visit on Wednesday. There were several protests in Mexico City against his visit.
There had been several implications that Trump might have been going soft on his earlier views on immigration. His “quiet” visit to Mexico, and the “Make Mexico great again also” hats might have suggested likewise. But Trump proved all such claims wrong in his big speech on Wednesday night in Phoenix, Arizona.
“You cannot obtain legal status or become a citizen of the United States by illegally entering our country.”
“For those here today illegally who are seeking legal status, they will have one route and only one route: to return home and apply for re-entry under the rules of the new legal immigration system.”
