Donald Trump Walk Of Fame Wall: What Do We Know About It?

Hollywood sightseers on the famous Walk of Fame were confronted with an unusual addition to Donald Trump’s star. Someone built a 6-foot tall grey, concrete wall around it. Complete with “Keep out” signs and topped with razor wire. The unofficial addition to the star appeared early Tuesday afternoon, to the amusement of onlookers. There was no word as to who created the humorous installation. However the miniature wall was adorned with “STOP MAKING STUPID PEOPLE FAMOUS” which is believed to be the work of LA Street artist Plastic Jesus.
CBS News reports that the Donald Trump Walk of Fame Wall is the handiwork of a popular Los Angeles street artist who goes by the name of “Plastic Jesus.” In response to the various people asking the now-infamous artist about the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall, “Jesus” remarks that he not only built the wall, but he paid for it himself (an obvious dig at Trump’s proposed policy to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, and to have Mexico pay for it).

According to USA Today , though, the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall isn’t the first time that Plastic Jesus has criticized the Republican Presidential candidate. He was responsible for the nationwide signs that read “No Trump Anytime” — which, according to the artist, was hung in such cities as New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
As to why the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall is getting all of this attention — what is it, really, but a 6-inch wall around a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? — it’s because, according to the Oregonian, it went up around the same time that the NYC-based businessman was formally announced as the Republican Presidential nominee. In addition, building the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall was a perfect opportunity for the artist to promote his now-infamous slogan, which is “stop making stupid people famous.”
In addition to all of this attention that the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall has earned him, Plastic Jesus has seen his work featured in a wide variety of outlets and publications, including the BBC, Us Weekly, and the Daily Mail. “Often questioning the norms in society Plastic Jesus confronts our compliance of culture and current affairs. The artist uses scale and contradiction as a means to highlight issues and opinions that often go unquestioned. The aesthetic appeal of his work combined with the engagement produces an addictive mix that challenges our acceptance,” he writes in his bio.
But while Plastic Jesus is pleased to offer political commentary, he makes it clear that he prefers to attack policies, not people. When asked about the Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall by CNET, he said, “I wanted something that was going to attack Trump’s policies rather than make it a personal attack on him.”
Donald Trump’s proposed policies have come under fire lately, especially in the wake of the recent Republican National Convention, wherein his third wife, Melania, made the news due to her obvious plagiarism of Michelle Obama’s 2008 DNC speech. However, this recent Donald Trump Walk of Fame wall has put “The Donald” in the news again…for obvious reasons!
