Did Beanie Sigel Ghostwrite For Meek Mill? Rumors Spark That Philly Rapper Is A Hypocrite

The beef between Meek Mill and various other artists seem to have grown, and Beanie Sigel has seemingly joined the fray.
The original source of controversy stems from Meek Mill’s social media rants against Drake. As the issue grew heat and the two traded diss tracks, it became clear that one of Meek Mill’s insults was that Drizzy didn’t write his own verses. It’s no secret that artists take inspiration from songwriters, but there appears to be an entirely different perspective when it comes to rappers writing their own content. As a result of this, the Philadelphia rapper has targeted Drake as a “fraud” because of the rumor that his rhymes are not his own.
It seems that the tables may have turned. If you’ve been following social media (and consequently the beef between the two rappers), then you’re familiar with the fact that Beanie Sigel recently joined Meek Mill on a track that revolved around dissing The Game. The two are at odds due to rumors that Meek was involved with law enforcement, resulting in The Game coming under question by the authorities. There’s also the fact that Sean Kingston is now making videos in regards to Game, the Jamaican-American singer calling the Compton rapper anything but his name.
In a report by HotNewHipHop, it’s being stated that Beanie Sigel said that he helped Meek Mill on a diss track. This comes as a surprise, as it was rumored that the two Philadelphia artists had been involved in a physical altercation at one point. Beanie, the 42-year-old rapper with hits such as “Feel It In The Air” and “Roc The Mic,” recently conducted an over-the-phone interview with Baltimore’s 92Q Jams. During the phone call, Beanie goes into what was involved when Mill called him in for his support.
“He didn’t say nothin’ to get me on the track,” Sigel admits. “I just happened to come in the studio, so I just was helping him out with some lyrics, and the situation kind of played out like it did.”
Beanie’s words seem suspect. If Meek Mill is against ghostwriters to the point that he’d ultimately create a diss track about Drake on the topic, how is he not under the same category? Of course, this is all speculation. There’s no telling if Sigel’s words warrant a claim of hypocrisy, but it doesn’t help Meek’s case if the “State Property” actor was involved to an extent similar to Drake’s situation.

According to HipHopDX, The Game furthers the confusion of Beanie Sigel’s friendship with Meek Mill. According to the “Hate It Or Love It” rapper, Meek Mill’s entourage physically assaulted Beanie Sigel. In turn, Sigel claimed that he was the “real king of Philly.” Mill constantly talks about his ties to Philadelphia, so it’s implied that Sigel was indirectly insulting him.
It doesn’t look as though Beanie Sigel is willing to join the fray against The Game, however. When discussing Game, Sigel states that he and the rapper have a “great relationship.” However, there seems to be an inconsistency; The Game also disses Beanie in a diss track of his own. If one thing is certain, there appears to be quite a bit of controversy in all camps involved.
Drake has yet to do more than pledge his allegiance to The Game by sharing the cover of his 1992 album. Only time will tell if the beef will eventually subside, or if we’ll see more from either side.
