‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For August 26, Universal Remote Tunes In

Xûr has only four more stops in the Tower before Destiny: Rise of Iron drop on September 20. The mysterious vendor’s visit to the Tower this weekend brings the Universal Remote to play with along with some decent Exotic Armor pieces for PlayStation and Xbox players seeking to complete their collections.

This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destinythrough the morning of Sunday, August 21. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Universal Remote

The Universal Remote shotgun is one of the rare, non-primary weapons that can be placed in the primary weapon slot. It’s not a top-tier shotgun in terms of its impact, but its range allows for extreme play styles by pairing it up with Sniper or Fusion Rifles. It is mostly a novelty weapon, but that is part of the fun and can be dominant in the right hands.

Empyrean Bellicose

Aside from being a cool-looking Titan helmet in Destiny, Empyrean Bellicose has a deceptively beneficial suite of perks, even if it may not be a top-tier piece. The main perk, “Antigrav Thrusters,” allows Titans to hover in the air while aiming. The other half of that perk gives a melee recharge whean picking up Orbs of Light, which synergizes well with the different Titan subclass melee abilities.

The random perk rolls give “Inverse Shadow” and “Heavy Lifting” in the third column for more Super Energy from minion kills and Heavy Weapon kills against minions. “Infusion” is the final column perk to replenish health each time an Orb of Light is picked up.

The evenly split 48 Intellect /48 Discipline stat roll is solid and the perk roll is excellent as well. Destiny players will want to stand pat with this helmet.

Graviton Forfeit

This Exotic helmet is geared toward Nightstalker Hunters by granting the Shadestep ability for free via the “Elusive Shadow” perk. This frees up the final column in the Nightstalker skill tree to choose between “Keen Scout” and “Predator.”

The optional perks include “Inverse Shadow” for bonus Super energy from all PVE kills and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. “Better Already” sits in the final colum to provide immediate shield recovery from picking up Orbs of Light.

This is a solid pickup for PVE and PVP encounter, and the 47 Intellect / 46 Discipline stat roll is decent enough. Not much need to re-roll with this combination of perks.

Nothing Manacles

DestinyWarlocks who love to run Voidwalker will love the Nothing Manacles. These Exotic Gauntlets grant an extra grenade charge and give a boost to Scatter Grenades. The tracking ability of Scatter Grenades was tempered some with the 2.1 update, but it is still excellent for crowd control or area denial in PVE and PVP activities.

The 41 Discipline / 45 Strength roll is decidedly average for these gauntlets. The optional perks of “Energy Projection” and “Momentum Transfer” are fine, but consider re-rolling to shoot for more Discipline to maximize grenade usage with this Exotic piece.
