DeMarco Murray is not telling the truth about his desires to return to the Dallas Cowboys, according to NBC Sports.
On Thursday, DeMarco Murray told the media that he has no regrets about signing with the Philadelphia Eagles instead of staying with the Dallas Cowboys. He reiterated that his desire was to stay in the City of Brotherly Love after rumors surfaced that he wanted out of town. Sources are now stating that Murray isn’t being completely truthful. DeMarco is simply doing public relations by telling Eagles fans that he is not yearning for a new home in the NFL.
DeMarco Murray making a return to the Dallas Cowboys makes a lot of sense for everyone involved. For the Philadelphia Eagles, they get rid of a player that does not fit the team before he becomes a locker room cancer. Jerry Jones is still praying for an NFL Playoffs appearance, so bringing back Murray would help his offense out significantly. For Murray, this would be a chance to return to the dominant offensive line that helped him break an Emmitt Smith record. DeMarco also gets to break away from Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, whom he seemingly has lost trust in.
Upon receiving his release from the Philadelphia Eagles, DeMarco Murray will more than likely head to the Dallas Cowboys immediately. Even though the team has a 4-8 record, they are only one game out of the lead in a very weak NFC East, where the Eagles are tied with the Washington Redskins and New York Giants in first place with a 5-7 record. Dallas is playing against a struggling, but still dangerous Green Bay Packers team this upcoming Sunday, and they can use all the help that they can get to beat Aaron Rodgers, arguably the best quarterback in the NFL.
The right system for DeMarco Murray is the one that the Dallas Cowboys run. Fortunately for the 28-year-old running back, Scott Linehan is still the offensive coordinator, and he has not made a bunch of modifications to the scheme. That means that Murray should be able to get back on the field much sooner because of his familiarity with the playbook. DeMarco loved running behind Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, Doug Free, and Tyronn Smith last year. He might like it even more this year since the offensive line added La’el Collins. Murray would love nothing more than to go home.
Do you think DeMarco Murray could help the Dallas Cowboys make the NFL Playoffs this season?
