A Connecticut couple flying to Florida was arrested after several people complained they were engaging in s*xual activity midflight. Identified as Christopher Drew Arnold, 42, and Trista L. Reilly, 43, the pair was flying a JetBlue flight on Saturday from New York to Sarasota.
During the flight, a mother approached a flight attendant, saying her two children, aged 11 and 14, just witnessed Arnold and Reilly engaging in s*xual activity in their seats. The mother directed the flight attendant to the area, alleging Reilly was “making up-and-down movements with her head while she was face down on Arnold’s lap,” according to authorities.
According to CT Post, the mother said the couple realized the two children were watching and still “didn’t stop.” The flight attendant told the couple to sit up straight and fasten their seatbelts multiple times.

After the flight landed, Arnold and Reilly were escorted by the Sarasota-Manatee Airport Authority Police Department officers.
According to the bodycam video shared on X, the couple defended their action and claimed they were sleeping. She told police officers she was resting her head on Arnold’s lap and accused the flight attendant of being rude. She also said that their own teenage children were seated behind and would not do such activity in front of them.

However, the accusations were also corroborated by the two children who had witnessed the s*xual acts. The couple was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition, specifically in the presence of minors. According to court records, they were released on their own recognizance.
The couple pleaded not guilty and are scheduled to be arraigned on August 15. Under Florida law, they may get up to 15 years in prison if convicted. So far, they have been banned permanently from flying on JetBlue.
According to ABC7, the couple has been banned from flying with JetBlue again. “This behavior is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by JetBlue. Immediately upon receiving the report, our crewmembers acted swiftly to engage JetBlue’s security team and law enforcement. We are fully cooperating with the investigation, and these customers are no longer welcome to fly JetBlue,” an email from the company’s corporate communications office read.
Netizens were both shocked by the news. One commented, “It’s not surprising they did this on a plane full of people in front of their own kids. People truly don’t understand how pe– and lust-filled people are.” Another one commented, “Nasty people.”
