Earlier this week the National Enquirer published a photo of Whitney Houston in her casket , and unsurprisingly, the Houston family is furious. Cissy Houston is reportedly calling for an in-depth investigation into the incident to find out who snapped the photo.
The International Business Times reports that Cissy Houston is requesting everyone who attended the funeral, including the staff at the Whigham Funeral Home, to take a lie detector test. Carolyn Whigham, one of the owners of the funeral home, denied that anyone on staff would betray Cissy’s trust by taking a picture of the late Whitney Houston. Whigham said:
“I’m going to answer you as the publicist told me to answer you: We have no comment. But it was not the funeral home. Whitney was a personal friend to me and my family. We would not do that.”
The photo, which was published on the cover of the National Enquirer under the title “Whitney: The Last Photo,” was bought for a reported 6 figure amount. The photo has not been verified as authentic.
The International Business Times reports that Cissy Houton could file a lawsuit and go through depositions, but she can’t make the funeral home staff take a lie detector test.
