Chris Soules says farming will always be a big part of his life, so he has a great a pitch for a TV show. The former Bachelor star told Cosmopolitan that he’d love to see a dating show about farmers.

“I think we should do a show about that,” Soules joked to Cosmo . “I should be Chris Harrison for farmers.”

Chris added that it’s really hard to meet a young farmer because only three percent of the population works in that profession.

“The majority, over half of the farmers that are farming today are over the age of 50, so I’m a very rare, rare individual,” Soules said. “Most farmers are married. But there are some.”

While one of the negatives of farm life is the lack of proximity to the big city — Soules says he has to drive an hour just to take a date out to dinner — the former Bachelor star did offer some tips on how to meet a Prince Farming.

“I’d say, go to Iowa State, go to Purdue University, if they’re young enough,” Chris suggested. “If they’re looking to go to a school, go to a major agricultural school, or I hesitate to even say, go to Farmersonly.com and that might be your best bet.”

Chris Soules proposed to Whitney Bischoff at the end of his season of ABC’s rose-filled reality show, but the couple broke things off several months later. Still, he has no regrets about playing the reality TV dating game.

“There are a million positives,” Chris said of his time on The Bachelor .

“Everything was positive. The only negative one is I didn’t end up with a wife. That’s the only disappointment that I have, but I met a lot of great people. Whitney being one, and she’s a friend I’ll have forever.”

While Chris Soules is joking about being a reality TV host, he hasn’t ruled out future television appearances. In fact, Soules will turn up on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor next month to give his friend some tips on how to navigate a dating pool of 25 women.

“You’ll see me a bit on next season,” Soules said. “Just giving him advice, is all. Nothing weird!”

But Chris teased that future TV projects are also in the works — with an agricultural twist that doesn’t include roses.

“That’ll be the next time you see me on television, but I’m also working on some other things that I don’t know will ever make it to actual television, more in the agricultural world,” Chris said.

“It’s kind of a unique show idea that I’ve been working with some people on, that hopefully I’ll be talking to you more about once we get a little closer. Which could be a little while, but until then, I’m pulling away from dating on national television to sticking with my roots… If there’s other things that come along that fall into more of my wheelhouse that I’m more comfortable doing on national television, great.”

Chris Soules has logged several TV credits since starring as The Bachelor in 2015. Soules recently made a cameo on the Freeform series, Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After. Chris also competed on Dancing with the Stars and was a contestant on Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.

Still, while his reality TV resume is impressive, Soule says he really has no interest in permanently trading in his tractor for a TV gig.

“I’m glad I did it, but I can’t say I’d do it all over again,” Soules told Today.com of his stint on The Bachelor . “I don’t care about TV, I don’t care about the celebrity. That’s not what my goal in life is.”
