Chris Brown fronted court in Los Angeles today on two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats as a result of his beating of Rihanna last month.

In a brief hearing, his arraignment was postponed until April 6.

Earlier in the day, prosecutors released a sworn affidavit from an LAPD detective detailing the incident. The document details officially for the first time that Brown did indeed receive a text message from another woman, which lead to an argument that ultimately ended with Rihanna being beaten.

According to the document, Rihanna referred to as ‘Robyn F.’ and Chris Brown were driving in a rental car through a street in Los Angeles when “Robyn F. picked up Brown’s cellular telephone and observed a three page text message from a woman Brown had a previous relationship with.

“A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over onto an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt.

“When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one inch raised contusion. Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her left eye with his right hand.

“He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.’s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior the vehicle.”

The judge reprimanded Brown at the hearing saying “You are not to annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone.” The order is not a full “stay away” order, and allows Brown and Rihanna to see each other.
