Chicago Police Bodycam Video Shows Officer Dismantling a Family’s Cover-Up at DUI Spot—Mom’s One Statement Exposes Lie

Police responded to a DUI crash on September 25, 2025. The bodycam video of the interrogation revealed how the mom and sister tried to take the blame for the accused’s DUI crash.

However, the police officer saw the red flags and immediately knew something was wrong. She did not believe their statement from the beginning. The mom told the police they were waiting for the tow truck while the car in front of them had its tires punctured.

When they were asked if they were driving that vehicle, the mother said, “It was me.” The officer got suspicious and asked, “Got you. Where are you coming from?” They said West Chicago, and they were headed home. They gave a conflicting statement and said they were headed home and not to West Chicago.

The officer responded, “You’re headed from West Chicago, but you’re facing towards West Chicago?” She asked them to roll down the back window and saw that the man had red eyes and was high, suspecting m– use.

She again asked the mom and the sister who was driving, and was not satisfied with the answer. She said, “That pause makes me think otherwise. Are you lying to me right now? You’re lying to me right now, right?”

She further added, “I’m assuming he was driving, hit something. You’re trying to cover for him.” The officer told them he could have hit a person instead of just a harmless crash since he was driving under the influence. The daughter tried to save her brother again and said what if someone else was driving. However, that turned out to be another lie. The officer claimed she was trying to be nice to them, but everyone had been lying to her the whole time.

She told the officer that he didn’t remember who was driving or that he did not want to reveal the truth. But when the officer asked the brother, he admitted that he was the one driving the vehicle.

The officer also had to deal with the tow truck driver, who was interrupting the investigation. Moreover, he tried to reason with her that she might also drink sometimes. She sternly told him that she does it responsibly.

The mother explained to the officer that this had never happened with them. She lied because she was scared and was a single mother. Before arresting him, the police officer let him finish his chicken sandwich.
