A woman had to spend six days in hospital after she was attacked in her bedroom by a deranged cat.
Helena Silver was fast asleep when she was awoken by her own cat, Gem, who was in the midst of having a fight with a ginger tom in her bedroom.
It’s believed that the other cat had climbed in through an open window, which is where it came face to face with Gem and the two then began to fight.
The library assistant then rose to her feet and looked to separate the two felines, but she was instantly attacked by the cat. Helena has revealed that she was bitten eleven times, with the cat jumping onto her and then sinking his teeth into her right arm and then along his body.
Silver sounded like she was describing a crime scene when she told The Sun , “It bit so hard I screamed. There was blood all over the carpet and the curtains and I was in agony.”
Silver ultimately got rid of the cat by grabbing its neck and then throwing it out her the window. However, because of her injuries, her hand went on to swell to twice its size.
When she got to the hospital, Silver, who lives in Southampton, England, was told that she could get blood poisoning, which might lead to her losing her arm or even possibly dying.
To combat these issues, Silver’s arms was then placed in plaster, whilst she was then given a drip which would stave off bacteria.
Helena Silver then added, “It’s so daft that a cat bite can hospitalise you for so long but he but me very deeply. I don’t know who owns the ginger cat but he has attacked my neighbor’s cat and is dangerous.”
