As fun as the Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta is, one can only run through Operation Metro so many times before it starts to get really, really played out – I think I even dreamed about it in my sleep last night.
Fortunately for those of us getting Operation Metro fatigue, DICE announced today that they’ll be bringing the Caspian Border servers back online this afternoon and throughout the weekend in order to stress test 64-player servers.
“After analyzing the data from our first round of closed Caspian Border tests, we have great news for participants in the Battlefield 3 PC Open Beta: the DICE team has decided to bring back Caspian Border for the beta’s final weekend and conduct an open large scale test of the 64 player Caspian Border map,” a post on the Battlelog forums read.
EA went on to note that this is a beta , lest you forgot, and you may or may not encounter a number of glitches, disconnects and crashes as a result of the stress test.
Additionally, DICE confirmed that Caspian Border will not be opened up on consoles, meaning if you want to try out the 64-player Conquest map, you’ll need a capable PC to do so.
If you’d like to give the Caspian Border map a test drive, you can do so starting right now through the end of the beta on October 10.
