Stephen Colbert had fun interviewing a cartoon version of Donald Trump on his show, and now the YouTube video is going viral. In the video, Colbert opens with a photo of Donald, and the news that Trump’s staff noticed Trump was in a good mood when he wore white baseball caps was in and a bad mood when the Donald donned a red-colored baseball cap.
Colbert joked that Donald’s habit of wearing colors to signify his moods means “cap of white, friend in sight — cap of red, we’re all dead.” However, Stephen said Trump’s staff had no idea what it means when Donald wears a hay-colored swim cap, referring to Trump’s infamous mane of long hair. Colbert guessed that Donald’s blonde mane of hair — sans cap — meant Trump was in a neutral mood.
However, with all the backlash over the recent bad press, Donald might be wearing a red hat all week, noted Colbert. Stephen was referencing the infamous photo that Trump retweeted, which featured an unflattering photo of Heidi Cruz next to a flattering photo of Melania Trump. As reported by the Inquisitr, that photo comparison with the suggestion that an image was worth a thousand words drew the wrath of Ted Cruz.
In Colbert’s version of the controversy, Mary Todd Lincoln was compared to a sheep with the word “ew” on the old, pretend daily newspaper.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube in the early morning hours of March 31, has already swelled to more than 17,000 views within four hours. Colbert joked about Trump, saying that he never discards anyone — and quickly quipped that Donald discarded his first couple of wives, all the anti-Trump protesters, and all the folks he fired on his reality TV show.
The description of the YouTube video on Colbert’s channel explains why they decided to go with a cartoon version of Trump to interview.
“In the wake of accusations against his top advisor, Donald Trump has devolved into a cartoonish version of himself. So Stephen invited a slightly less cartoonish version of Trump to appear on the show: Cartoon Donald Trump.”
With all due respect, that’s the argument of a 5-year-old, Anderson Cooper said to Trump recently, telling Donald that he acts like a child. The judgment came when Trump claimed that he didn’t start the war of the wives and blamed Senator Cruz for the melee.

Therefore, cartoon Trump showed up instead of the real Donald, whom Colbert asked his people if they really invited to the show, as the monologue claimed. That’s when the cartoon version of Donald began using references to his own book and words that a child would use. That’s the art of the deal, that’s what he’s going to make Putin say, claimed cartoon Donald. Cartoon Trump went on to insult Colbert with taunting words that one might hear on a child’s playground at recess.
“Dumb-dumb.”
“Poopy pants.”
“I know you are but what am I?”
“I’m rubber, you’re glue. I’m a lawyer and I will sue.”
When Colbert spoke of the security footage showing Trump’s campaign manager grabbing a female reporter, cartoon Donald went on to swear that he didn’t and added the word “infinity” to his denials.
“No he didn’t…infinity.”
Trump rapped in the video as he dodged Colbert’s “bomb” of a pen, a reference to the accusations that Donald made in real life, saying that Secret Service didn’t know if the person approaching him had a pen that could’ve been a bomb. Colbert joked that fingers could be guns and went on to pretend as if he were shooting cowboy-style with his fingers at the camera.
