Calvin Harris Follows Harry Styles, John Mayer, And Dumps Taylor Swift — New Break-Up Song On The Way?

The Sun is reporting that pop superstar Taylor Swift and her boyfriend of 15 months, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, have broken up.

The split came as a shock to followers of the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter, who has previously dated One Direction star Harry Styles, guitarist and singer-songwriter John Mayer, Conor Kennedy, Joe Jonas, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Swift became known for writing scathing breakup songs slamming her exes. Taylor Swift tracks “Dear John” and “Out Of The Woods” are believed to be about John Mayer and Harry Styles respectively.

Fans of Swift were relieved to see the unlucky-in-love country crossover star finally in a stable relationship, and as late as last month Taylor was telling reporters that her relationship with Calvin Harris was “magical.”

So what went wrong?

Us Weekly is reporting that it was the DJ who ended things with Taylor.

“It was Calvin Harris who ended things with Taylor Swift.”

The mag reports that Swift was initially upset but is recovering.

“Taylor is doing OK now but she was upset. It just wasn’t working anymore.”

The insider was vague about the reasons for Calvin’s decision, saying “it just wasn’t working anymore.”

Taylor and Calvin (real name Adam Wiles) reportedly began having problems in the last few months. A source told E! that he initially dated Taylor despite the fact that she was not really his type, and that she was always more into the relationship than he was.

The DJ is said to have simply lost interest in Swift and their relationship in recent months.

“Adam really liked Taylor, she was not the type of girl he ever dates and he liked that. He liked how innocent Taylor was and that she had a good caring heart. Taylor’s heart was more in it then he was. He started to lose interest over the past few months, but really tried to not just break up.”

The E! source spoke about general incompatibility, stressing that Adam did not cheat and that he felt he and Taylor are simply “not a good match.”

“They were just not very compatible in different areas in their relationship. The touring and traveling didn’t help. It seemed like they were more friends than lovers. Taylor and Adam had very different group of friends…There were no other women involved with Adam. He did not cheat on her at all. Just not a good match.”

Taylor Swift stood by Calvin/Adam’s side when he was involved in an accident in Los Angeles recently.

“A VW vehicle crossed the centre lane and collided with the vehicle he was riding in as a passenger on 21 May, sending him to hospital.”

Will the songwriter feel bitter that she was abandoned after she was so loyal and caring?

“Taylor was really disappointed in Calvin and felt like he wasn’t there for her.”

Perhaps Taylor Swift will take out her frustration by treating fans to yet another caustic breakup ballad.

“This all happened last week. Taylor and Adam had no big blowout fight, but the romance just was not there anymore for them. Adam is the one that ended it. It was all done in a very mature fashion. Taylor is pretty upset but they are still in communication. Taylor was there for Adam with his accident and supportive.”
